Tata Motors global sales down 16 percent in August
Tata Motors Wednesday reported a 16.21 percent decline in group global sales in August, which stood at 81,457 units from 97,225 units sold in the corresponding month of 2012.
 
 The sales of all commercial vehicles, including those of Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range, were lower by 24.16 percent in the month under review at 37,983 units from 50,084 units sold in August 2012.
 
 The sales of the company's passenger vehicles last month also were lower by 7.77 percent at 43,474 units from 47,141 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.
 
 "Global wholesales of Tata passenger vehicles in April 2013 were 12,579 units (down 45.50 percent from 23,081 units sold in the corresponding month of last year)," the company said in a statement.
 
 The company reported that the sales of Jaguar Land Rover brand in April 2013 were up 28.40 percent at 30,895 units from 24,060 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.
