Pala: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Mani C. Kappen won the Pala by-poll(Kerala) by a margin of 2,943 votes. Kappen secured 54,137 votes, Jose Tom got 51,194 and the BJP's N Hari got 18,044 votes.. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan thanked the electorate of Pala for giving a good victory to the Left-backed candidate.
