The state government has decided to remove a series of the hurdles hindering the implementation of cluster redevelopment schemes in Mumbai. To facilitate the scheme taking off in a big way, the government had decided that the developer will have the power to acquire private land coming in the way of his proposed cluster redevelopment project if the owner of that land refuses to part with it.

Recently in the ongoing monsoon session of the state legislative assembly, leader of the opposition Eknath Khadse pointed out that even though the amended redevelopment policy has been placed before the Chief Minister Pritviraj Chavan, it has to be given the green signal.

Media Eye has learnt that one of the major hurdle faced by builders is, land acquisition.A city builder who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “Once Chavan gives the nod Head: Cluster redevelopment scheme to be boosted
