Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally launched from Srinagar programme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) which was viewed by 66 colleges across the country including 12 from the City of Mumbai. The programme organised by the Ministry of Human Resources Development launched to inculcate start-up culture and facilitate skill development among the students in autonomous colleges.

 

With the fund received from RUSA, the colleges will be able to provide research opportunities and start other new skill development courses.

The principal of the SIES College of Arts, Science & Commerce( autonomous) Dr Uma Shankar said: " we have already started upgrading our infrastructure facilities, libraries, laboratories and classrooms." We are also introducing research facilities and new skill development start-up courses for the students, Uma said.

 

 

Among the city colleges where the cells were launched include SIES, Ramnarayan Ruia, Jai Hind, St.Xavier's, Mithibhai and Khalsa.

The SIES college team was preparing for this launch for the last several weeks with the technical support from the HRD ministry. This programme is to transform India’s higher education landscape, driving access, equity, quality and excellence. Thousands of students across the country watched this programme live.
