On Wednesday the Supreme Court heard petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The case was heard by a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde, Justice S Abdul Nazeer and Justice Sanjiv Khanna. In total, over 140 petitions regarding the matter were submitted to SC. Supreme Court asks Centre to file reply in four weeks.
