The Womens wing of the Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts Sabha honoured  animal lover 64-year old Ms. Rozanne Davur for her outstanding contribution in saving and treating  animals at her farm in Satara. She has today around 130 animals including dogs, cats, horses, bulls, pigs and donkeys . This shelter provides injured, abandoned and handicapped animals a dignified life and ample space where they move about freely.

Known as the kind-hearted samaritan of animals in need, Roxanne trained as a master trainer in Animal Welfare in Delhi and started off working in Ooty as an Animal Welfare Inspector and a Race Course Inspector. After serving in Ooty for 12 years as animal Welfare Inspector , she moved to Karjat, amid the lap of nature, and founded the animal shelter, ‘Probably Paradise, Trust for Animal Welfare’.

When asked what is the driving force that keeps her going, she says, “I love and enjoy being around all the animals, as they bring a smile and chuckle to me every morning. I consider myself lucky to be living in a paradise surrounded by nature’s beauty. Though she gets help from the village people , most of the work she herself does like making food and treating the animals, she said.

The award was presented to her by the president of the Sabha Dr. V.Shankar. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh , a citation, Shawl and a memento.
