Reflecting the Indian ethos, HSNC University in Mumbai is gearing up to organise two highly impactful and combined events on Monday, 15 January 2024, at Rama and Sundri Watumull Auditorium, K.C. College, in the city. The events, including a lecture series and an international symposium, are said to be transformative. The chief guest and keynote speaker, Dr Tony Nader, successor to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and leader of the Transcendental Meditation (TM) organisations worldwide, will share visionary insights on global peace through the Maharishi Effect.

The Lecture Series

The “Harbingers of Change – Stories of Transformation” lecture series endeavours to motivate the students to embrace their culture, conduct research and contribute to solving national issues. The keynote speakers of the earlier two editions were Nobel Laureate Dr Kailash Satyarthi and the first woman IPS Officer, Dr Kiran Bedi, respectively.

Further explaining the lecture series, Dr Hemlata K. Bagla, Vice Chancellor of HSNC University, said, “This year’s lecture theme emphasises Vedanta’s profound significance, transitioning from an Indian treasure to a global legacy. The lecture will also explore how the Western world has widely adopted this invaluable aspect of Indian heritage. Yet another key message which should resonate with the youth through this series is taking immense pride in one’s culture, conducting research, and actively contributing to resolving national issues. Everything needed for progress is within our borders—let’s take it forward”.

The International Symposium

The symposium is “Cultivating Peace – An International Symposium on Transcendental Meditation, Happiness and Global Harmony.”

It aims to explain to stakeholders the significance of Vedanta and TM in India’s cultural tapestry and their growing popularity worldwide, highlighting how the country’s cultural treasures are embraced globally.

Furthermore, Dr Nadar will elaborate on his impactful projects in Vedanta village and his active involvement in establishing a transformative 1000-acre Vedic Village near Kamshet, Maharashtra.

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore TM’s transformative potential for personal tranquillity and global harmony.

Besides, the symposium will showcase peace-creating technologies of the consciousness, such as transcendental meditation. From better grades in school to endless world peace, the transcendental meditation technique, created by spiritual leader Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is touted as the one-stop solution for the world’s problems. Now, scientists are endorsing it, too.

Professionals, academicians, educators and students will attend the events.

The press conference and interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, January 16 2024, at Hotel Trident, Business Centre, Meeting Room 1, 35th floor (Rooftop), Nariman Point, Mumbai.
