Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti (SNMS) Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Grand Success

The Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti (SNMS) recently commemorated its 60th Anniversary with a remarkable two-day celebration on February 17th and 18th, blending cultural magnificence with traditional festivities.

On February 17th, the inauguration witnessed the esteemed presence of Shri VP Nandakumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Manappuram Finance Ltd, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Swamy Subhamgananda, General Secretary of Sivagiri Madom, as the Special Guest, lending a dignified aura to the occasion. The festivities commenced with unit-level cultural programs, commencing at 10:30 am, captivating the audience and setting an exhilarating tone for the celebration.

Continuing the jubilation on February 18th, a Mega Thiruvathira event took center stage at Chembur, attracting the participation of approximately 3000 enthusiastic ladies. What made this Mega Thiruvathira unique was its derivation from Sree Narayana Guru’s poems, and its choreography by renowned Kathakali and Mohiniyattam artists from the esteemed art institute Kalamandalam, Kerala. The involvement of artists such as Shri.Kalamandalam Ganeshan, Shri. Ambili Nattika, Smt.Chandrika P.R, Shri.Sadu Kalimandalam, and Kalanilayam Ragesh added to the event’s grandeur. Over 5000 individuals, including participants from various parts of Maharashtra and different linguistic backgrounds, witnessed the event, expressing their joy and satisfaction at being part of such a memorable occasion.

The presence of Shri. Abu Asim Azmi as the Chief Guest and Swamy Subamgananda, General Secretary of Sivgiri Mut, as the Special Guest on the 18th further elevated the event’s significance.

The celebration also featured a captivating performance of Naadan Paatukal from Thavam Gramavedhi, Kerala, mesmerizing the audience and underscoring SNMS’s commitment to preserving and promoting traditional art forms.

As a token of appreciation for his longstanding dedication and service, architect Shri. B.H. Wadhwa was felicitated during the occasion. To mark the 60th anniversary and the success of the Mega Thiruvathira, several balloons were released into the air, symbolizing hope and jubilation.

SNMS President Shri. M.I. Damodaran presided over the meetings on both days, with Chairman Shri. N. Mohandas addressing the gathering. General Secretary Shri. O.K. Prasad warmly welcomed the participants and provided insights into the Mega Thiruvathira, while Vice Chairman Shri. S. Chandrababu extended the vote of thanks. Additionally, Treasurer Shri. V.V. Chandran, Asst. Secretary Shri. V.N. Anilkumar, Asst. Treasurer Shri. P. Pritweeraj, and Zonal Secretaries played pivotal roles in organizing and executing the two-day program.

The 60th Anniversary celebrations of SNMS resonate as a testament to its enduring legacy and unwavering commitment to fostering cultural heritage, community cohesion, and social harmony.
