Well, if you’re looking for a monsoon trip with your friends and family, then this is the ideal place for you. Kondeshwar is one of the most popular picnic spot near Thane. Located in Bhoj Village in Badlapur in the middle of a dense forest, Kondeshwar temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is an ancient elephant temple. This temple represents the ancient Hemadpanthi style of architecture and is constructed using black stones. The main sanctum sanctorum is surrounded by several shrines. This ancient temple is famous for its location in the midst of a dense forest. Mahashivratri is one of the main festivals celebrated in this temple.

Shri Khateshwar Maharaj Samadhi, a pond and a waterfall are located in the vicinity of this temple. It is one of the best temples in this city. The presence of the ancient Shiva Temple adds beauty to the existing waterfall. The Kondeshwar Waterfall is popular among young enthusiasts and waterfall lovers. This waterfall is usually crowded during weekends and on holidays. Kondeshwar Waterfall serves as an ideal escapade from the hustles of a crowded city.

The small temples of Kondeshwar are submerged during the monsoon and inaccessible as seen below. During very heavy rain the temple is fully submerged and the area is closed. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon and winter seasons.

This waterfall is located exactly 10 km from Badlapur Station. Kondeshwar is accessible via road. One can hire an auto to Kondeshwar temple at a price of Rs 150. One can also take their private vehicle. No bus service is there. Private buses go up to a certain point after which walking is necessary.

Don’t forget to carry your tiffin box, because there are only small stalls serving chai, vadapav and biscuits.
