Chennai: On the birth anniversary of J. Jayalalithaa the late former Tamil Nadu chief minister, Social media unveiled an upcoming biopic starring Kangana Ranaut as "Thalaivi". Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel uploaded the picture on social media pages. Kangana looks as Jayalalithaa wearing a saree with her hair tied, and red bindi with dazzling studs.
Makers of "Thalaivi" released Kangana's first few months ago brought share of criticism, saying the actress looked nothing like the Iron Lady of Tamil Nadu.
Said AL Vijay, director of the film: "We've brought in specialists from the USA to work on Kangana's look. In terms of the story, we would like to portray her (Jayalalithaa's) human side without trying to glorify her."
The film will be released worldwide on June 26 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
