On Monday 21-year-old accused tried to kill himself in Borivali lockup. He was rushed to Dr Babasaheb Shatabdi Hospital, now he is safe. According to the police, Afzal was arrested of raping a minor girl in Malwani. He was booked under charges of the POCSO Act. He was later sent to court and taken under custody by Borivali police. He was behind bars with four accused, one of the accused walks out of the cell to go to washroom, that time he tried to kill himself, at night 11:15 pm the other accused said this incident to duty constable. According to duty constable, police registered a case and booked under section 309 of Indian Penal Code and he was remanded to judicial custody.
