Mumbai: A sixty-five-year-old man jailed for 20 years for assaulting a ten-year-old girl, police said. The man was found guilty under the relevant sections of the Sexual Offenses Protection of Children (POSCO) Act by the court for sexual assault and convicted. While the victim denied the prosecution's claim of sexual assault, the court considered the statement from others that included an eye witness who saw the man violate the minor. The prosecution found that one of the neighbours on April 18, 2018, saw the man raping the minor who is staying with her grandmother. The eyewitness alerts another neighbour who responded with the statement that he saw the child with him a few months ago. The neighbours asked the child about the incident. She told that perpetrator tempted her with sweets and sexually assaulted her, according to the indictment. Then the neighbour told girl's father about the incident and filed case against the man.
