Mumbai: Geeta Mali, a playback singer who had been singing for Marathi movies, died in a road accident in the Thane district of Maharashtra, police said on Thursday. Geeta Mali and her husband Vijay were on the highway between Mumbai and Agra, heading to their home town of Nashik after returning from the United States when the car crash occurred. At about 3 pm, a container parked along a street was rammed by their driver. Both Geeta Mali and her husband were severely wounded and taken to the Rural Hospital in Shahpur. During the treatment, the singer died.
