PM Narendra Modi gets first dose of Covaxin

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the Covid vaccination shot at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. India has begun the vaccination drive for persons above 60 and those above 45 years of age with illnesses, today.

PM Modi’s vaccination was trending on the social media as he wore a scarf from Assam and nurses Rosamma Anil from Kerala and P Niveda from Puducherry administered the shot.

The Prime Minister later tweeted: "Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!"

PM Modi chatted with the AIIMS nurses who administered the dose: Laga bhi diya aur pata bhi nahin chala (Already done? I didn't even feel it).
