The former Jawaharlal Nehru University student’s president Kanhaiya Kumar, tweeted a “thank you” note to Deepika Padukone for showing unity in the campus and praised her courage also for the same.

Following this, he added that she may be trolled for such courage but history will remember her for standing by the idea of India.

Her visit to the university drew quick attention on social media as she shared the stage with kanhaiya and student leader of JNU when the former president was raising slogans. She left the campus after meeting the new president Aishe Ghosh.

The JNU students union leader has claimed that the attackers were connected with the students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), for Sunday evening’s attack which left over 30 students injured.
