The Indian private sector bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd, has promoted John Varughese as General Manager, seemingly indicating the importance of focusing on information technology to unlock opportunities for further growth.
As general manager, he will head the business development, operations, information technology and digital banking, alternate channels, infrastructure and associate products department of the Bank.
Mr. John Varughese has over 31 years of experience in Information Technology and Banking.
He is an electronics engineering graduate with an MBA in Banking & Finance. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
He started his career with Dhanlaxmi Bank in 2005. Before joining the Bank, he had stints in various organisations, including eight years with Federal Bank.
He presently heads Information Technology & Digital Banking. Apart from the above, he was head of the Information Security Group, chief compliance officer, chief credit officer, and regional head over his years with the bank.
