Media Eye News Bureau: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) foiled an attempt by two heavily armed militants to storm it's camp in Srinagar's Karan Nagar area on Monday morning.
A gunfight started here after militants, who tried to attack a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp earlier, were forced to withdraw and later trapped inside a building, a police officer said.
The encounter in the Karan Nagar area started after the fleeing militants trapped inside the building were surrounded by the security forces, the officer said.
Two militants carrying backpacks and AK 47 rifles were spotted by a CRPF personnel around 4.30 am as they approached the camp.
The CRPF personnel opened fire and the militants fled from the spot. The building was cordoned off and the militants were cornered in another building located outside the camp.
