Ahmedabad: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India is now open defecation-free and said the 60-month-long feat has amazed the world.Plastic is a significant threat to the environment and by 2022, he said, the nation must pursue the objective of eradicating single-use plastic. "Rural India and its villages have been proclaimed ' open defecation-free ' today," Modi said, speaking at the 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' programme on Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary.
