Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Assembly today passed a resolution calling for the scrapping of the infamous Citizenship (Amendment) Act, in the midst of ongoing protests across the country against the legislation. The ruling CPI(M)-LDF and the opposition Congress-led UDF backed the resolution while the only dissenting voice in the one-day special session was that of BJP's lone MLA and former union minister O Rajagopal. The house adopted the resolution moved by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
