Pilot Abhinandan returned

ATTARI-WAGAH BORDER: Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has returned home after a long wait, that almost took five extended hours from the expected time. He returned safely at the Indian soil, the Attari-Wagah border,  at 10 yesterday night where he was expected to return by 5 in the evening, the time given by the Pakistan government.

Escorted by Pakistan Rangers, he crossed the border with a smile on his face, and later received by Indian security officers.

There was no communication from the officers that why Abhinandan's handing over was delayed for several hours.

Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor met the media soon after the handing over process and said that the pilot would be taken for a detailed medical checkup.

"He will be taken for a detailed medical checkup. The officer has had to eject from a plane which would have put his body under immense strain," said Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor.

Another official said that Abhinandan's first words were "it is good to be back in my country".

A Huge crowd of Indians were gathered at Wagah border to welcome Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Abhinandan was held under custody by Pakistan for the last two days.

Patriotic atmosphere was seen everywhere at the Wagah Border as people Singing patriotic songs, patriotic slogans to greet the air force pilot.
