Since December 6 marks the 27th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid, security in the holy city of Ayodhya has been strengthened, with the administration of Uttar Pradesh deploying a large number of security personnel to maintain law and order. The entire state was kept on high alert. This is the first anniversary of the incident after the 2.7-acre land was given to Hindus by the Supreme Court on November 9 when an alternative plot was granted to Muslims.
