Dr Pillai holds a Ph.D. from the University of Mumbai, specialising in Philosophy. His expertise extends across diverse sectors, including corporate, politics, academics, and the military. His profound research on “Kautilya’s Arthashastra,” a classical text on management dating back to the 4th century BC, has earned him accolades from the Chinmaya International Foundation in Kerala.
With an MA in Sanskrit and a PhD in Arthashastra, Dr Pillai is a certified management consultant from the International Institute of Management Consultants and serves as the Director of the SPM Foundation. He is the Founder and Director of Atma Darshan Pvt Ltd, a Spiritual Tourism Company, and Chanakya Aanvikshiki Pvt Ltd, a Leadership Training and Mentoring Institute. His recent appointment as the Deputy Director of Chanakya International Institute of Leadership Studies further solidifies his standing as a thought leader.
Having nearly 25 years of combined working and business experience, Dr Pillai is renowned as a leadership speaker, author, trainer, and personal mentor. His work includes nearly 200 articles and papers published in various magazines, newspapers, and journals.
Dr. Pillai has not only showcased his expertise on the airwaves through the radio show “Ask Chanakya” on the Moksha Channel but has also represented India at prestigious national and international conferences.
Significantly, he is renowned for his 17 bestselling books on Chanakya, ranging from ‘Corporate Chanakya to the ‘Chatur Chanakya children’s series.
In addition, he has chaired conference sessions, including the World Philosophy Congress in Athens, Greece, and the Academy of Management in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
He has notably played a vital role in various national and international projects for the Government of India, contributing to conferences and seminars in over 20 countries.
Dr Pillai’s influence extends globally. His teaching engagements span Germany, Dubai, Muscat, Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK, including prestigious institutions like Oxford and Cambridge.
Serving as the Founder and Director of the Chanakya International Institute of Leadership Studies at the University of Mumbai, he has pioneered the world’s first postgraduate program in Leadership – the Masters in Leadership Science.
Dr Pillai has delivered over 1000 lectures at prestigious institutions such as the National Defence College, Defence Services Staff College, IIM, IIT, IISc, RBI, BSE, and NSE. His influence extends globally as a leadership and strategy advisor to over 500 organisations, including government and non-government entities.
