Mumbai: Former MLA, deputy leader and spokesperson of the ruling Shiv Sena government Krishna Hegde has written to the Mumbai Police Commissioner alleging a threat to life from a certain lady named Monika D’Souza.

In his letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hegde has stated that one MonikaDsouza1992 sent a video shot in the dark – masking her complete face and “making serious, malicious and defamatory allegations” against him and alleging attempts of “sexual violence, gun totting, threatening to kill her parents.”

The alleged email was sent a few times to three journalists, precisely on 17 November, 18 November and 26 November 2023. In the first week of this month, one of the scribes brought the matter to his notice, following which he immediately reported it to the police, Hegde informed.

According to Hegde, these emails (from Monika Dsouza 1992) are the result of his follow-up on the multicrore Bliss Consultancy share broking scam whose culprits Ashesh Mehta and Shivangi Lad Mehta are at large.

Hegde has urged the police to track down the IP address of the emails sent to the journalists and apprehend the perpetrators.

What is the scam?

Ashesh Mehta, a self-proclaimed financial influencer, and his wife Shivangi Mehta have reportedly been missing since June of this year. They are said to have fled the country after Madhya Pradesh police discovered their participation in a Rs 300-crore home-grown drug racket.

In addition to their drug-related activities, it has been revealed that the couple was also operating an illegal finance business under the name of Bliss Consultants.

Committed to protecting investors

Krishna Hegde, who is following up on this scam, says, I am not scared of false allegations, and I will follow up the case for the 6000 investors who have lost their hard-earned money.”

Suspects conspiracy

Further, Hegde suspects this (threat emails) mischief is the handy work of Ashesh Mehta, Shivangi Mehta, Nikki Shah, Nirmal Shah and their accomplices.

“I feel they were trying to stop the arrest of their father, Shailesh Mehta, by circulating such emails,” he said.

For the unversed, Shailesh Mehta, father of the Bliss Consultancy scam accused Ashesh Mehta, was arrested by Punjab police from Ahmedabad on a complaint filed by another investor, Viresh Singhal, in Mohali.

Hegde has thanked the Punjab police for arresting Shailesh Mehta and urged the Mumbai police to take quick and appropriate action in the scam case and arrest the other culprits and their accomplices.
