New Delhi: As the counting of the 17th Lok Sabha election passes the first two hours, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) running way ahead as they lead in 319 seats. Congress-led UPA leads in 114 seats while others lead in 104 seats.

NDA’s overall lead stays close to the exit poll predictions as the exit polls had predicted more than 300 seats for the ruling alliance. Now it remains to be seen whether the BJP will retain the power with a  single largest majority. It will be the first time after three decades where a party retains power with a single largest majority.

BJP rules the show in the majority of the seats while the Congress makes gains only in a few states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Congress-led UDF leads in 19 seats out of the 20 seats in Kerala while the DMK-Congress alliance lead in Tamil Nadu.

As far as the current updates are concerned, the biggest shocker is coming from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi as Congress President Rahul Gandhi trials behind BJP candidate Smriti Irani. As Contrary, Rahul Gandhi surges way ahead in Kerala’s Wayanad constituency as he leads by more than 40,000 votes. The early trend shows Rahul Gandhi will win with a record majority from Wayanad.

The results in Sonia Gandhi’s Raebarely shows ups and downs for the UPA chairperson as she is struggling to make a major hold on the lead.
