Leader of Congress Priyanka Gandhi said on Friday that it is the duty of the government to keep the law and order working, referring to the limited growth of proceedings in Uttar Pradesh cases of crime against women. Gandhi, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee responsible for Eastern Uttar Pradesh, also called on women to take on more positions of power. "More women should be in power positions. I'm asking all my sisters to grab the men's power – contest Panchayat elections, Vidhan Sabha, fight for the power that should be yours," Priyanka Gandhi said.
