Family members of those killed in last year's Amritsar train accident on Dussehra took a march here on Tuesday to mark the anniversary and demand justice and compensation. "It's been a year but we haven't been offered justice yet. So we're going to sit on the railway tracks in protest. We've had to make several rounds of offices throughout the year asking for justice" Said protestor. Hundreds of protesters took part in the march asking for justice and raising slogans against the government of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

The accident took place on October 19 last year at the Dhobi Ghat ground in Choura Bazar near Jhoda Phatak area in Amritsar after a speeding train ran over a crowd of Dussehra revelers who saw the burning of a Ravana effigy on the railway tracks.
