A notification has been issued by the union government on Monday to the airlines operating in India, that they now could provide in-flight Wi-Fi services to its passengers on board.

The passengers can avail the service when the Pilot-in-Command may permit the access of Wi-Fi onboard Internet services, when laptop, smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, e-reader or a point of sale device is used in flight mode or airplane mode," the notification stated.

Air Vistara to be the first for such services the CEO said.
