ME News Bureau: Seven Pakistani soldiers, including a major, were killed in a gunfight along the Line of Control in (LoC) in Janglote area in Jammu & Kashmir.

Sources said the dead Pakistani Army officer was identified as Major Amjad.

The gunfight was carried out in retaliation to the ceasefire violation in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district early on Monday morning.

A senior Army officer said Pakistani troops continue to target Indian positions though there was no raid across the LoC.

On Saturday, Lance Naik Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadane, 28, from Dhule district of Maharashtra, was killed during firing from across the border in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.
