Media Eye News Bureau: People  turned up in numbers as Tamil actor-cum-politician Rajinikanth arrived at Chennai on Monday evening, where he unveiled the statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran at the DR MGR Educational and Research Institute.

He is set to address the students of the institute while speculations are rife on whether he will reveal his further plans on his political journey as well.

Rajinikanth will be addressing the public for the first time after he had announced on December 31 last year that he will enter main stream politics and will contest in all the 234 seats in the 2021 assembly elections while refusing to react on his plans on next year's general election.

The Tamil superstar's public appearance comes after his friend and contemporary Kamal Haasan launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam, in February. Both stars are expected to clash at the big screen as well, as Rajini's much anticipated movie Kaala's teaser was released a few days ago while Kamal also announced that his Vishwaroopam 2 trailer would be released soon.
