The Academy’s president John Bailey was accused of sexual harassment. However, the complaint has been dismissed and he will continue to serve as the organization's president.
The organization issued a statement and said, “The Committee unanimously determined that no further action was merited on this matter. The findings and recommendations of the committee were reported to the Board which endorsed its recommendation. John Bailey remains President of the Academy.”
The statement further referred to an investigation undertaken by the Academy's membership committee following a complaint of sexual harassment that had been lodged against the Academy president. While the Academy asserted that “it took the complaint very seriously,” they however, “unanimously agreed that no further action was merited on this matter.” and passed its findings and recommendations on to the full board of governors, which then endorsed its conclusions.
