Mumbai: Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis slipped away from the hands of the BJP on the vagaries of "political arithmetic" the reason for government formation. The BJP with 105 MLAs — the largest single party in the 288-member — was unable to form government after it was outmaneuvered by the new Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress. Rivals in the house taunted  Fadnavis for speaking on his pre-election that he would return as chief minister. "I've said I'm going to come back, but I've forgotten to give you a schedule for it. But I can assure you one thing, you've got to wait a while," said  Fadnavis. "In the last five years, not only did I announce several projects, but I also started working on them. You never know, I can come back to inaugurate them," he said.
