A team of volunteers from "Help the Blind Foundation" from Chennai visited Mumbai colleges and interacted with visually impaired students . They visited the SIES College, Sion where 39  visually challenged students are studying in various courses.

The NGO is involved in helping the deprived students with education assistance , lodging expenses and other reading materials so that they can continue their studies.

At the SIES they interacted with the students and presented them with a memento and T Shirt and promised to help them in any way the college desires. They have so far helped more than 2000 of these students to pursue their studies.

Dr. Uma Shankar , principal of the college helped them to interact with the students. The organisation is also affiliated with similar  foundations in Hong Kong, Singapore and USA.

According to Mr. B.Subramanyan , a volunteer from Hong Kong , the mission of the foundation is to  help providing the visually impaired students , access to higher education and enabling them to get jobs in today's modern economy.
