Separatists to be sidelined by the government of India

Taking a hard stance post the failed attempt by the all party delegation to break ice with hardliner separatist leaders in the valley, the central government is all set to end perks and privileges extended to hardliners so far. In a fresh notice the Government has decided to  not issue any new passports to the pro Pakistani lobby from Kashmir along with removing the security cover provided to majority of the separatist leaders.

The move comes at a time when the hardliners stand exposed in front of the Indian polity for refusing to meet the all party delegation members in order to find a solution to the ongoing unrest and violence in the valley.  Ever since 2010 when the role of separatists such as Sayeed Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz and Yasin Malik alsong with others came to the front for fomenting violence in the valley, the UPA government had taken away key perks such as  paying for their medical treatments, funding foreign trips, education for their children, travel reimbursements.

Since 2010 the attitude of pampering the separatists has been on a decline especially with the NDA government making its stance clear that those who support the Pakistan cause on Indian soil and cause trouble will no longer be tolerated. The new policy will add to the separatists woes as the NIA is also working towards uncovering the hawala link in money transactions taken place from separatists accounts especially those linked to Geelani and his son along with other hardliners. Recent reports have indicated that Pakistan has been supplying money to the separatists to keep the agitations going on in the valley through the hawala network wherein money in small amounts is shifted to numerous accounts and then collectively used to fund trouble makers.

The separatists have come under attack for refusing to meet political leaders such as D Raja, Sharad Yadav, Sitaram Yechury amongst others who had broken away from the delegation led by Home minister Rajnath Singh, to meet with the separatists to engage them in a constructive dialogue. “Instead of meeting the politicians with open arms, the hardliners refused to even give them a chance to put forth an agenda. These leaders were welcomed by wither closed doors or pro Pakistani slogans outside the venues of the valley leaders. Their refusal to meet the delegation has only exposed their hate filled agenda towards the Indian state and therefore no more of the tax payers should be wasted on them”, stated a source privy to the peace process.
