The government in no mood to succumb to political pressure to release surgical strikes details to pu

Considering national interest over puny political gains, the central government has decided against the release of the surgical strike video, which was submitted by the defense secretary at the central security meet on Tuesday. Considering it imprudent to release a video, which can compromise the operational secrecy behind conducting such precision strikes along with announcing details of the technology used to conduct the raids, the footage though with the government will not be released to the public.

The Modi government along with the armed forces came under a rather nasty and unhealthy attack by certain opposition leaders wanting to gain political mileage out of the successful strikes were asking the government to release the videos which would “prove to the world” that the raids did in fact take place. While casting aspersions over the integrity of the forces and the word of the central government has not gone down well with majority of the nation, the government in a more nuanced stance has decided to accept the political brickbat instead of compromising the armed forces for political gains.

The strikes in question were carried out on the morning of September 28 across the LOC in PoK wherein para cammondos were airdropped behind enemy lines. Once inside the enemy zone, the armed forces annihilated close 50 terrorists in over 7 terror camps. While minor injuries were sustained by couple of our jawans there were no casualties, even though 5 Pakistani army jawans were killed in action while trying to defend the terrorists. The details were later shared with media by the DGMO LT Gen Ranbir Singh and MEA spokesperson Vikas Swaroop.

In the interest of operational secrecy and not give way to political maneuvering which could lead to demoralizing the armed forces at a time when tensions with Pakistan is escalating with every passing day and they are coming under fire almost on a daily basis, the government has decided to stick to their guns of nondisclosure of any further details while standing strong with the armed forces across the country.

The Prime Minister has further asked all cabinet and BJP ministers to not indulged in chest thumping speeches and instead silently support the men in uniform as they go about their work without any want of attention. Any further statements on the government’s stance towards Pakistan will now only be made by authorized spokespersons of BJP. With the majority of the Indian public has hailed the strong aggressive stance India has taken towards Pakistan in a long time, some politicians can still not come to terms with the new definition of a strong India and hence are trying their best to case doubts on both the Government as well as the armed forces.
