A group of saffron clad young men raised pro-CAA slogans and chanted, “Desh ke ghaddaron ko goli maaro saalon ko” (shoot the traitors of the nation). The incident happened at the busy Rajiv Chowk metro station when the train was entering the station and was about to halt. The youngsters continued with their sloganeering even after deboarding the train.
Some commuters joined enthusiastically in their sloganeering while many others began recording videos on their phones. Many were taken aback at the spontaneity and unusual choice of the venue. All the six youths shouting the slogans were intercepted by CISF personnel on the spot and handed over to Delhi Metro Rail Police officials for further action.
As per Delhi Metro (Operation and Maintenance) Act 2002, any kind of demonstration is prohibited in the Delhi Metro premises. Passengers indulging in such acts are liable to be removed from the metro premises.
